It's not *bad*, but it's one of those arthouse-y films with lots of long, lingering shots of scenery and shots where the camera just sits there and focuses on something forever when nothing happens. I thought it was going to be like I VIKING I KILL ROARRRR and it was like, look at these lovely extended shots of Mads in a boat going down a beautiful river!

Haha, I admit, what I expected from the picture of the secret was more "Vikings, ROAR" than arthouse film. That's a nice thing to know, going in!

If I can find it, I will give it a try! If nothing else, it sounds pretty. (And I do so love Mads face. Dem cheekbones.)

Well, if you think about it, a Viking's existence probably was mostly going up and down rivers and estuaries, in long trips well-represented by quiet art film cinematography.
