Yes, it's become a different show and I might have gotten used to that if I wasn't too annoyed with Root. I thought s1 was brilliant, s2 was great too, and I liked most of the s3. S4 had a few good moments, but a lot of the things I found so compelling about Poi were lost. Also, it doesn't help that s5 will most likely be the final one, yet the writers will leave the end open just in case it isn't. I hate when writers do that, it usually leads to show having no proper closure. IMHO, the only ending that makes sense would be if both Finch and Reese died (like foreshadowed in the pilot), but since the ending will be left open that can't happen.
