TVTropes is SO sad isn't it? It almost feels like some humorless escapees of Wikipedia decided to take it over. I miss its more anarchic days.

It's really only good for Useful Notes now.

Isn't it that the mods became power-crazy or some shit? I don't really remember anymore. I really miss what it used to be. I had a lot of fun on that website back in the day. Ah well, we still have out memories, right?

I remember when the head mod FLIPPED OUT over all those people who were adding sub-examples to sub-examples, like so:

* Example from a show
** Other example from a show
*** Clarification of that example

For whatever reason, he just couldn't stand that. So he made the format for those sub-sub-examples deliberately hideous to make people want to merge them. Now all the big pages have no sub-examples at all, and every example is forced into a single paragraph, no matter how bloated and confusing that gets.

Those sub examples were hilarious though. I remember one about Batman being a chaste hero. And then there was a long list about all of the women he's banged. Lastly, one person asked, "Wait, what trope was this for?" and someone responded, "Chaste Hero, apparently."

Ugly layouts~ That's what the future is~ From Tumblr to TV Tropes to Facebook~

I keep an ear to the ground there when I find a new show because it's a good source for 'here's a joke/reference you missed' or 'this is what was going on behind the scenes that made that one episode kind of odd.' But even their episode recaps are terrible and frequently inaccurate by now.
