I think you're being a little harsh on Dewey and Jamie. The couple of episodes that focus on Dewey show that the town actually likes him as a mayor (if not as a person to be buds with) and he and his son have a pretty good relationship despite some small problems. And Jamie responds to Garnet's talk at the end of the first episode way too well to be anything like an MRA.

Yeah, I just felt like in summation, Jamie may have been created in response to the question of where MRAs are coming from. Garnet did put it into perspective very carefully, and if she'd been less aware, he might have become worse. Dewey I guess I was talking about more from the perspective of the fandom. People making .gifs of Pearl shutting him down and whatnot. I guess the real point was that the guys are varied and flawed too.
