OP asked if it is prudish and it is. Nothing wrong with being prudish, are you assuming prudish is bad? That's on you

No, you flat out said it was weird if someone chose to stop reading something because of sex.

And "prudish" is a character judgment. It hardly applies to everyone in this scenario. Some people just get bored or uninterested when it comes to sex scenes. For some people, it can be triggering. Maybe someone just doesn't like how sex scenes are written. It doesn't mean they are offended by the very thought of sex.
