Re: Is it prudish to not want to read/watch something because it has explicit sex?

If you find it boring, or if watching it just doesn't appeal to you, I think that's a matter of personal taste and not a matter of prudery. A lot of explicit sex scenes don't appeal to me. For me visually explicit material often just registers as fleshy parts pressing and jiggling and protruding bits being stuck in holes. And I don't really enjoy seeing that unless it's accompanied by emotional/mental/physical arousal on my part.

I'd like to ask the people who think this makes one a prude if they would enjoy watching any random strangers having sex? I'm sure many would not. Because we wouldn't care about any of it. It would just be flesh jiggling and bits going in and out of holes. For some people that's enough to get them going, and that's normal, but it's also totally normal if it leaves you completely cold and you'd rather not watch it.
