Are those artists' songs as wildly popular as Blurred Lines was?

None of those are bands or anything- AYRT is definitely in the UK.

Rotherham is a place in the UK where there has been a very big child abuse scandal, involving paedophile gangs and the authorities ignoring it. The rest of them are entertainers who have been found guilty of historical child abuse charges dating back to as early as the 1960's.

ahhhhh ok. That explains why I'd never heard of them xD;

Are any of them current-day popular entertainers? If not I don't think that's a good comparison to Robin Thicke or Blurred Lines.

Jimmy Saville was a DJ who went into light entertainment on television. He was very popular in his day, though latterly he was widely considered a bit creepy even before the scandal broke (after his death) - that said, he still had lots of fans until it was discovered that he had been preying on teenagers for decades, including sick and severely disabled ones (in that case under the guise of doing charity work).

Harris was a singer who also went into light entertainment and children's tv. The cases are a bit different - the Saville case was shocking because of the scale of the abuse, but in retrospect it became apparent that people should have noticed something was really off and done something about it way back in the day (there were rumours about him, but he had a lot of friends in high places). Saville was obviously a deeply strange person even before the truth about his crimes came to light, and I think his larger than life personality probably helped protect him. With Harris, the shock was more that he seemed like a nice, wholesome guy.

But neither of them are particularly relevant to "Blurred Lines", because the problem with them is their crimes, not the work they produced, which was mostly family-friendly entertainment. It's only creepy now because we know what was behind the mask.
