There is a subplot in a book!

My husband tells me that there is an older EU book that has a small subplot where Vader goes to Alderaan not long after Episode III, and Bail spends a chapter running around trying to get Leia and her nursemaid out of the castle.

It's not much, but at least there is an old canon source for you to check out?

The book is titled Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. Can't vouch for how good it is, but he generally only buys good EU books.
