My sister's asshole boyfriend (who I have complained about on here repeatedly) is leaving tomorrow! He will be flying back home and will never be back. Sure, my sister will be a bit sad but this is a huge improvement in her life.

Is this the drug addict guy? Congrats! And maybe plan something nice for your sister so she doesn't wallow in sadness and relapse back into a crappy relationship, 'cause the worst may be over but it's not necessarily OVER over.

Also seconding what anon said about doing something nice with her and encouraging her to keep her standards high. Related: it's important to maintain emotional connections with people outside of romantic relationships. I hope things keep getting better for her!

Yeahhh! I'd been wondering. Difficult transition but once that occurs she'll be so glad to move on, and great that kids didn't get entangled in this.
