I think I get what you're saying anon, and I agree. People tend to find something popular and problematic, latch onto it en mass, and blow its problematic qualities extremely out of proportion in order to make an example of it. Then they pat themselves on the back for their commitment to social justice. Meanwhile, much more dire, impactful instances of the same issues barely make a blip on the public radar, because everybody is too busy making an example of this one thing in the name of social justice to bother paying much attention to this other, much worse, much bigger thing occurring elsewhere.
