i didn't think queerbaiting was a thing
(Anonymous) 2015-09-26 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)sorry for doubting you all (also why does it suck)

(Anonymous) 2015-09-26 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)It's basically a show whose fundamental design conspires to encourage all of the Moff's worst tendencies.
I mean, I feel like the first episode is one of the best in the series, compared to dreck like The Blind Banker and infuriating bullshit like A Scandal In Belgravia.
And yeah, while I think the idea of queerbaiting is overused, Sherlock is definitely a place where there's a point to be made

(Anonymous) 2015-09-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)Which I think was refreshing. Straight people will always exist and I'd much rather see a world where tbe possibility of gayness is treated as normal, even if its wrong. But in subsequent episodes Watson does get too flustered over it. Which I'd get in real life, but in fiction it does become queerbaiting.
