And if you do go into their house, be sure to be quiet and remove obvious evidence so you don't get discovered.

That's right. Here are some tips:

* Don't get greedy! Only take ONE item of clothing, and make it a relatively small item like a pair of underwear or a single sock.

* If you roll around in their bed in order to breathe in their scent, be sure to leave the bedclothes as neat or as rumpled as they were before you did it. Check to make sure you haven't deposited any stray hairs on the pillow.

* Trashcans can be a goldmine! Don't neglect the bathroom trash, just in case.

* Take along a flashdrive with plenty of storage, so you can copy files/pictures off any laptops or tablets.

* If you're feeling bold, consider writing a secret message on the bathroom mirror in chapstick, so it shows up when they take a shower!
