I'm not even trolling, but I don't like Star Wars, admittedly. I have just heard that's the best one from most people who do like it.

Also not big on Indy. Raiders might be more popular.

...I chose bad examples, come to think of it.

I apologize for assuming you were trolling, but seriously, that is how bad the examples were.

I would say, in terms of fandom consensus, most people would say that those movies are the WORST in their respective trilogies. With Star Wars, Empire is definitely the fandom consensus best movie. With Indy people would probably make arguments for Raiders or Last Crusade, but definitely Temple of Doom is the least liked of the three original Indy movies.

Yeah…herpy botched it pretty hard on this.

Star Wars fandom consensus is

Empire >>original Star Wars >>>>Return of the Jedi>>>>>>>Revenge of the Sith >>>>>>>Phantom Menace>Attack of the Clones

Though a good many people do hate Phantom Menace the most

But Empire is far and away considered the best

Phantom Menace is far worse than Clones IMO

Really? ESB is the most favorite? Huh. I mean - yes, Hoth is awesome, and the Han/Leia stuff but.... All that stuff with Yoda was so boring.

Star Wars is and always will be my favorite.

Just a few hours ago, I rewatched Phantom Menace for nostalgia reasons and I still love it despite/for it's campy glory.

Agreed - I adore Empire Strikes Back. It was a sequel that managed to retain the love that the original inspired, expanded that universe and put a darker spin on it, then left the storyline with an indeterminate ending that just had so many POSSIBILITIES. A lot of the zine fanfic that film inspired was just amazing.

And then, sadly, we got Return of the Jedi, which squandered so many of those amazing possibilities. Interesting that Star Wars went to Empire, which had a more adult take, then instead of continuing, reverted back to a more simplistic form. I'm thinking Ewoks, and a regurgitated Death Star.

Anyway. <3 Empire.
