I find the BBC Sherlock adaptation poorly written and terribly acted. I don't find Cumberbatch or Freeman attractive because I find them to have unexpressive faces.

I couldn't watch Supernatural past episode 13 of season 1. I found it repetitive and boring.

I think Game of Thrones is vastly overrated, despite GRRM being a great storyteller with a knack for detail. (Only basing this on having read book 1 tbh.)

1 and 3 are not unpopular opinions.

No. 1 really isn't unpopular on f!s, but otherwise, yeah :D It's a flashy pretty-looking series that can entertain, but not much more than that.

Agree re: GoT. It's an unpopular opinion among my group of friends, so I'm used to keeping it to myself.

I love Supernatural but I completely understand you - most of the fandom loves the first season best but it's one of my least favourites because it's so dang procedural. In later seasons ARCS HAPPEN and episodes actually BUILD on the episode before em and oh it gets great for awhile...but yeah. I feel.

OP

I've been told it doesn't get better until season 4, which is a daunting amount of time to have to wait for a show to improve imho. I'm disappointed because SPN came highly recommended, due to having elements of stories I would normally find enjoyable.

Okay, I disagree with that - I mean obviously, cause that is WAY too long to wait for an improvement. I think season 4 (and 5, which builds directly on it) is the BEST season, but in my opinion the show started to hit its stride in the last few episodes of the first season, so then in the very beginning of the second it took off running. The second season was immediately plottier, arcier, bigger and riskier, introduced side characters who came back again later and brought in all kinds of worldbuilding..yeah. I mean, if you decided never to pick it up again that's fine. But in my opinion if you tried again you wouldn't have ANYWHERE NEAR as long to wait for the good stuff. Like, small spoiler..ya know how the brothers are looking for their dad? It's in the last 3 or so episodes of the first season that they find him, and he brings the plot with him.
