I think I'd be inclined to agree with you about Uncharted 3 in a lot of aspects... the gameplay was better, the cinematics had evolved to tell a better story, the motivations for the character were laid out a little better, there was a lot more involvement with the villain...

But in a sense it became a lot less charming. Drake got more serious (he was starting to in U2, so maybe it was a natural progression) but he also lost his unique appearance/build and just kind of morphed into the generic refrigerator shooter man body which was pretty disappointing.

I mean, if you're climbing a bunch of things it actually makes sense to be lighter. I liked that they took that into account in the first game.

I love Nate's sense of humor so I guess I can't fault you on that one, but I did not think Uncharted 3 was entirely devoid of it. Overall it was a more serious game, but to me it still had charm.

And I actually liked seeing another side of Nate! I thought the writing was good and I was invested in what was going on with the story and characters. Again, it was a lot of fun too.

His appearance? I'll admit I find him hot, I've always found him hot, but I don't think I even noticed much difference in his build. Appearances between games are always changing, and not always for the better, but for me it isn't usually a massive complaint. Even in the case of something like Zevran in DA2... Who, not even going to front, was hideous, but I still enjoyed the hell out of his cameo.
