I was about to type up a paragraph trying to describe my fandom vs. irl identity, but this sums it up better than I can.

Sometimes, though, I think it backfires when I do "find out" someone IRL is into fandom as well. I'm playing it cool to the point it's sickening while inside I'm about to burst with OMG FANDOM FEELS, and it might give the impression I don't care that much. Of course, I have no idea how folks perceive me or my reactions either.
