I actually like how Steven Universe doesn't tell fans what to think of the characters. It implies that actions the characters take are good or bad, but it leaves room for debate about the mindset and history that prompted those actions.

A lot of fans are hoping that Peridot or Jasper will do something awful and the show will imply that fans who don't hate those characters are deluding themselves. I'm okay with them doing bad things, but I think making moral judgments the show's responsibility instead of the fans' responsibility would ruin the magic of the series.

God wtf is it with the SU fandom and not being able to grasp that people are allowed to like villainous characters?
