Exactly. My grandmother had a huge herd of dogs (at least 7 at any given time) and she was rich af and those dogs were pampered and loved and well-fed and looked after. There's nothing eccentric about loving animals and wanting to surround yourself with them as long as they're being taken care of--it's just that the cat hoarders who are sick and forget to feed and clean them get all the publicity.

Also I have only 2 cats but they both have fanciful names--one is named after the Tsar Nicholas II's second oldest daughter and the other is named for a Roman Emperor plus a Shakespearean character.
