I totally understand why it wasn't (it was a fucked up situation and I got a chuckle out of Bedelia's face and refusal), but Hannibal was so ready. And Anthony had it baaaad for him. I think my jaw dropped during that one scene they had together; the dialogue was delicious. Half of me was like, "Yes, get it!" the other half was like, "NO, run away!"

Not to mention, all three are gorgeous, so from a shallow standpoint...it would've been hot.

And if Bedelia didn't want to indulge Anthony/Hannibal could've still happened! Bedelia could've watched, maybe?

...It wasn't meant to be, OP. *sigh* Poor Anthony.

I knind of thought Anthony was a bit of a Will stand-in, TBH, so that Hannibal could kind of squint and imagine it was him...

I don't think Will and Anthony look that much alike (you're right, it's vague), but despite that I believe Anthony was supposed to represent a wanna-be Will. A Will that's a lot more...er, enthusiastic about Hannibal, lol.

Poor Anthony couldn't live up to the real thing, though.

First Hannibal killed almost no one in his residency then he had the prospect of a threesome dangled in front of him and torn away. Hannibal's life is hard.

You don't even have to dig that deep. di ostriche e ghiande is my personal favorite, but if you click on "Anthony Dimmond/Bedelia Du Maurier/Hannibal Lecter" you'll find some other fics where it was, indeed, that kind of party.
