GOOD aging

(Anonymous) 2015-09-28 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Inspired by #7 too.

Who aged incredibly well? To the point of looking better, older*?

*Not counting puberty, I mean going from adult to older adult

Good lord he went from looking like a scrawny weirdo in Black Adder to looking quite handsome in House.

Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds, Robert Downey Jr (a lot of that probably has to do with getting clean).

To a less degree (because I sort of count it as puberty-ish). Chris Evans and Jensen Ackles.

RDJ not only got clean he got extremely fit in/after prison (took up boxing and other fighting styles in a big way). Now he looks miles better than he used to in the 90's.

Re: GOOD aging

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2015-09-29 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but all of that was kicked off with being clean. I doubt he'd be going to the gym if he was still doing drugs.

Oh you would be very surprised at how many drugs bodybuilders partake in.

Re: GOOD aging

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2015-09-29 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes. But those are generally bodybuilders who get into drugs OR bodybuilders who use drugs to get fit. As far as I know, RDJ has never been into bodybuilding.

Agreed. He'd look even better if he laid off the fake tan and hair dye, though.

I generally feel this way about most celebrities. Keanu Reeves, Christina Aguilera... I love me some MILFs and silver foxes.

Roger Daltry.

Zoe Saldana

Especially since she's had kids, she's looked stunning to me.

I'll admit I used to find her borderline unattractive. Like here: http://www2.pictures.gi.stylebistro.com/Zoe+Saldana+Dangle+Earrings+Gold+Dangle+Earrings+VbMN4d6bsQEl.jpg

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

UTTERLY GORGEOUS

Seriously, she just looks absolutely fucking stunning.

I know she's not at all old (only 37), but the change is remarkable.

Nichelle Nichols and Diane Keaton are the first examples that come to mind, followed closely by Bruce Boxleitner.

Also, after marathoning the first season of Elementary I have come to the conclusion that Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller are both waaaaaaaay better looking now than they were 20 years ago.

God yes, Bruce Boxleitner.

Ugh, I'm always thinking "This person looks better older" and now that you've asked almost nothing is coming to mind. Damn you brain!

Most celebs, tbh.

Colin Firth (I find his face to be SO much more handsome and interesting with some wrinkles in it, though he was always attractive) and Hugh Dancy are the ones I've noticed in my last two fandoms. (Hugh Dancy is definitely pretty as hell, but I much prefer him now. He's matured so much, in a good way.) Halle Berry and Cate Blanchett as well!

I feel like Richard Dean Anderson also fits in this thread. SG-1 was basically a whole lot of "better...better...better...really good...holy shit wtf?!"

Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She was kinda pretty before, but now she's freaking gorgeous.
