DO IT. It took me a while to find a group, but I finally did and have enjoyed the first couple of meeting.

If you have anxiety, it actually works because you do meet online first, and with mine there's been some conversation in between - not a lot, but we've gotten to get a general idea of who people are. When we finally met there was almost no awkwardness whatsoever.
