I’m from a country rarely featured in fiction.
I feel weird in the times when I’m interested in media that isn’t from the Anglosphere, or Japan.
I don’t think twice when I like stuff from those places, but anywhere else and I’ll worry I’m ‘intruding’. I know it’s probably not an issue as long as I don’t become a weeaboo equivalent. And I should embrace the availability of English subs and translations on the internet!
Maybe it’s out of guilt that I couldn’t care less about media from the country I’m from, or its portrayal in media.
