Last night I dreamt I went to Fandom!secrets again. It seemed to me I hovered my mouse over the "Read more" link for the newest secret, and for a while I could not click it, for the link was broken. Then, like all dreamers, I was possessed of a sudden with programming powers and reached into the html code and fixed the link.

The secrets of the day lay before me, smaller and larger, some more readable, some less - as it had always been. But as I advanced, I was aware that a change had come upon them. Old and forgotten fandoms had come into their own again and little by little had encroached upon the newer fandoms with long tenacious fingers, on and on the poor layout that had once been our community.

And finally, there was the comment section, the comment threads, secretive and silent. Time could not mar the perfect symmetry of those numbered threads and links to the second page with the GC and games section. The internet can play odd tricks upon the fancy, and suddenly it seemed to me that the comment threads were filled with discussion and wank.

And then the site was refreshed and blanked out for an instant like a dark hand before a face. The illusion went with it. I looked upon a desolate shell, with no whisper of a past about its staring threads.

We can never go back to Fandom!Secrets again.
