(Anonymous) 2015-09-30 10:55 am (UTC)(link)Then there are those straight guys who like to write slash now and then, among other things (het, gen and f/f) as a kind of literary experiment. They're probably the rarest and a testament to how society is relaxing about sexuality these days, which I think is fantastic. I imagine they're more attracted by the freedom that fanfic brings and the community around it than the specific subject matter.
Fandom is mostly women, but it's definitely not completely so.
There's a huge trans presence as well, and I can see why. Both the anonymity of the internet and the creative process itself gives huge freedom to try on various gender roles.
