Things mostly do not want to kill you, despite our conscious propaganda to the contrary.

Haha, yeah, I was going to say, I have heard about the spiders in Australia, and considering I'm not exactly a fan of spiders in general, that...would be a bit of an issue for me :p.

Seriously, though, even if I don't ever move there, I really would like to visit the country someday. It really does seem like a lovely, fascinating place in so many ways.

ayrt I think I've only ever seen one deadly spider.. and that was dead. I've seen about four deadly snakes in my lifetime, and that was by going out into the bush, and they will avoid you if you avoid them.

In most highly populated areas (esp the southeast) it is extremely safe, no hurricanes, cyclones, bushfires, tsunamis, earthquakes, riots or killer kangaroos to worry about. We did have a small-scale terrorist attack last year though, 3 people died including the terrorist.

That's rather reassuring news regarding the spider/snake situation and whatnot.

As for the terrorist attack? Well, we had 9/11 here, as well as a few domestic terrorist incidents, so not like that'd be anything new or surprising for me, unfortunately.
