As a reader of chick lit, no. Not even close. They star women with low self esteem who think they are ugly and monstrous, but invariably, they ARE beautiful. All the boys want them. The dreamy love interest will spend lots of time convincing Main Chick how ~beautiful~ she is. Beauty is always an EXTREMELY important part in chick lit, it's never willing to be thrown out the window in favor of loving internal qualities instead like it would be for a man.
