so hurting people is justified now? Wow, not that I disagree that humans beings are capable of hurting others without realising it, but "justified"??

There was the word "not" written right before the word "justified"...? In retrospect, I could've written "although not" instead of "if not", but that sentence was already getting overly long, and I'm ESL and can't always immediately come up with the best possible words to use, and to me it looked like the context and the quotation marks would make the point clear anyway.

I mean, maybe there's some mysterious unnoticed double negative going on in that sentence that I'm not noticing that changes the meaning, or I'm writing something wrong sort of like when people mistakenly say "could care less" when they mean "couldn't care less"? Sorry if that was confusing.
