Re: What is the absolute WORST fandom-wide headcanon?

Your first point: See every single fandom with a "genius" character. Sherlock, House, Criminal Minds (sometimes), and Teen Wolf. Sometimes also Supernatural which whichever stupid woobie you choose.

Sherlock used to work himself into complete collapse though, or to the point where he'd go on weeklong cocaine and tobacco benders while he worked on a case. Perhaps this is a "genius" trope origin. Though it's true that geniuses irl are often extremely driven, sometimes to the detriment of their health. Taken a bit far with Tony sometimes though, he's a pretty worldly sort of person.

... I... am not in any of those. None. Ami in Sailor Moon doesn't, Hermione in Harry Potter doesn't, and I don't think there is a genius in any of my other fandoms. I didn't know that.

That makes a little more sense, now.

psst...both of those characters are women, that might be why.

I'd love to see it with Hermione though. Ron and Harry dragging her away from her books while she screams would be hilarious

Maybe. I just didn't realize it was a thing at all.

And if my gender is going to be stereotyped as 'able to be a functioning adult', I don't actually mind that all that much.

That would be pretty funny. Though I think eventually they'd just use magic. Every third or fourth day you see them packing her petrified body down for dinner before confiscating her wand and sitting on either side. Everyone's just so used to it happening that no one even comments anymore.

That's a pretty good headcanon. I can see it happening during exams.

...Teen Wolf doesn't have a genius character.
