Isn't a fetish show. Occasionally over-caters to undersexed dudebrahs. The scene you're talking about didn't come off right in the show imo. It makes more 'sense' in the book where it's intended to show how bad things are in the Eyrie and how screwed up the relationships there are, and how far-spanning the implications can be.

It was super squick either way.

Seriously? That's par for the course in human evolution and some communities still. Up until kids lose their milk teeth. It shouldn't be played as shocking and fucked up.

hm. I think it gave exactly that impression. the impression of an over-protective mother to an extend that's completely unhealthy. And I'm pretty critical about instrumentalizing breastfeeding for that sort of shock.
