No, really, I'm not. like 80% in the thread were like "I don't like being nude and I'm a virgin." I have no problem with that. but when it's the same people complaining about nudity and sex in GoT I'd say there's probably a connection. And to me, that's something I'd like to keep in mind, because on this comm I tend to despair a bit about the lack of balance in comments about stuff like that. Say you like depiction of sex and nudity, or sex-positivity, or porn, and you're a "neckbeard".
I get that if you're uncomfortable with nudity and/or a virgin yourself you might hold these opinions. that's totally OK. I'm just a bit uncomfortable whenever I feel in the minority like that, so having that knowledge is really nice.

...I'm sorry, but calling people "prude virgins" is judgy. If you don't intend it to be judgy, you really shouldn't choose words that sound judgy.

The bit about apparently assuming nobody would ever find anything wrong with shows you like unless they were "prude virgins" didn't help.

So yeah, even if you didn't mean it that way...this secret came across as very judgy.

(Also, when has anyone here called someone else a neckbeard for liking porn? TOOOONS of people here like porn, and they talk about it all the time, too.)

actually, there was no consensus in the thread I mentioned whether the expression "prude" was in any way pejorative or even valuing at all. I'm of the opinion that it's not. at least not without a context that makes it so. And the context I gave was that thread back then, in which there wasn't a lot of judging people for the status of their hymen or what they wear.
Sure, I could have written "puritan", but that would have been too much aimed at "ouuuh 'muricans!", and sure, I could have paraphrased it. maybe I should have written "virgins and/or prudes" so it doesn't come off as a combined insult but if you're willing to just not outright assume that it is, I don't think I did anything wrong there.

I got called a neckbeard for liking a scene in GoT.

I didn't say it was judgy because other people on FS think it's judgy. I'm saying it's judgy because I think it's judgy. And in other contexts I've seen it used in judgy ways.

I got called a neckbeard for liking a scene in GoT.

Context. Was it rapey or otherwise creepy?

but to be fair, of course I made it a bit more edgy (and visual) than I could have because this is fandomsecrets and everyone loves a wank, right?

The visual didn't bother me (and if it did I'd have no right to complain since it was under a cut).
