Do we know what happened as the aftermath from coffee anon? I seem to recall the fellow she threw the coffee at had been blinded and that he was thinking of prosecuting, but do we know what became of that?

I was there for the original thread, and yeah, that's exactly what happened. We know nothing about any further developments - at least not that I'm aware of.

You're not the only one who's curious, either!

Do you mind me asking what the thing was with coffee anon? I'm really hit and miss, and I've never heard of it. It sounds interesting, though.

From the best of my recollection, an anon posted that she was in trouble because she was at work and some guy pissed her off and she threw coffee at him. She was trying to justify her coffee throwing, and she said she might be in trouble not only at work but with the law since the guy she threw coffee at said he lost sight in one eye and was looking to go to the police over the ordeal.

I know there's more to the story, but I just read the whole thing and it's been awhile since it has happened.

Ah. Interesting. Thanks for the rundown.

She was in the break room at her workplace and she thought she saw this guy looking at her breasts, so she threw a mugful of fresh, scalding-hot coffee in his face, like Lee Marvin does to Gloria Grahame in The Big Heat. In subsequent posts, she revealed that she had not only lost her job but was facing criminal charges, and it was pretty clear that even though the guy had been blinded in one eye, Coffee!Anon still felt that she was the injured party. Supposedly, she had had a lot of problems with the guys at work harassing her in small ways and getting away with it, so she considered that she had had ample provocation and that her treatment was unfair. She did not feel responsible in the least for her own predicament.

It turned into a major wankfest, with one or more radfem anons (or maybe just a very Coffee!anon) posting in support of her and saying that the guy deserved what he got. To this day, I'm not sure whether the whole deal was a Soshul Experiment or whether Coffee!Anon was an honest-to-God sociopath.

There was one anon a while back who thought that coffee anon's victim was a friend of a friend or something like that. Or at least thought the situation was really similar. I think the victim was blind on at least one eye, though I don't really remember.
