Hawaii might suit. You can live a pretty good life on entry and tourism jobs if you are not too choosy about where you live there. Downsides is the occasional cyclone and pretty much constant volcano eruptions. Downside is that within fifty years it will no longer be American any longer. Hawaiian independence movement is growing, and the difference in island culture (laid back, relaxed, pretty open minded and non-military) is in direct conflict with the continental American mindset.

It's not hard, given your history of talking like this, to read between the lines, draw out the implicit meaning, and correct it to the actual text: Hawaii is good because it's nothing like bankrupt, empty American culture and is more similar to glorious, vibrant Canada
