Because I don't have enough sugar left at the moment to fit all the fruit I have at the moment.
(I wanted to buy more today but a family emergency prevented me from going to the store, and everything's closed tomorrow.)

Well, you can still have leftover fruit, it's just that you don't need to give priority to some one kind! Mix 'em and make as much jam as you can with the sugar you have.

So why not make a small batch using both berries and then just eat or save the rest or make a pie later or something?
