While adoption may be out, you could probably find a shelter or rescue that would let you volunteer to get your kitty cuddling fix. At the one I worked, "cat cuddler" was a legit job that people signed up for. Shelter cats need love!

This! I volunteered literally to play with cats at a shelter. The kitties usually have to get put in a small box cage, and shelters really want people to take them each out for fifteen minutes a day to play.
