Stonehenge is for tourists, you want Avebury for the real experience. And Skara Brae too.

Yeah, Avebury is nicer, more relaxed, and has a nice pub in the centre.

Avebury is very nice and worth a visit, but if you're in the area and have an interest in megaliths, you can't NOT go to Stonehenge just because it's popular. That'd be ridiculous.
