I suspect this attitude comes from a lot of Americans, where there isn't as much of a food culture as there is in, for example, Italy. People who know how to cook and eat well are in the minority, and there's a heavy reliance on processed foods or dining out. A lot of people just don't know any better, so "white people food" is bland boxed mac and cheese or an overdone pork chop with shake n' bake.

I can agree with this. I wouldn't mind expanding my tastes and cuisines, but here in small town Iowa, you just aren't really going to have much luck finding that sort of wide variety of food. It's pretty much whatever's made on the farms or the processed stuff you mention. And that's what my family made, because that's the quickest, cheapest stuff to make, and if your family is working odd hours, you're just not going to have time to make big fancy meals.

That's more classism, since people pointed out the food mocked as white people food are often eaten by poor, working class families who need a quick meal and can't afford otherwise.

This is true, but it's not 100% classism. Even people with money and access to good groceries stores don't always have the time or skills to cook meals from scratch. Also, if you don't live in a big city, you may not have access to a wide variety of great ethnic restaurants so your experience with other cuisines might be limited.
