Yea, that's how I feel. If I'm going to read about a character I want them to be IC, so if they aren't the type to want children then giving them children is a huge turn off for me. (Unless they deal with the situation realistically, like what you said about Jack.)
Adding children to a story when the character doesn't want them isn't something I'm interested in. I'm not going to yell at other people for liking it, it's harmless, but it isn't for everyone.
Though I really wish they would also learn that pregnancy is rough and the more babies involved, the rougher it is.
As I have never been pregnant I can't speak to that, but I imagine it to be so. The pregnancy itself, and of course actually taking care of those kids afterwards. Being a parent can't be an easy job.
Because people are able of loving adopted kids even if they didn't squeeze them out themselves.
I don't run into the DNA thing, but I don't doubt those people exist. (And they are awful and wrong.) IA about adopting, though; there's plenty of situations where adoption would make sense but is overlooked. (I was thinking that the other day!)
But seriously, I'd rather fanfic writers mention some of the other options rather than coming up with convoluted explanations for MPregs.
I think like anon said, some people are just interested in seeing their favorite character experience the pregnancy itself. Some fics focus heavily on the actual pregnancy and not so much about what comes after. It's just a thing some people are into. (It isn't really MY thing, but I have read it on occasion.)
