Oops. That was about #9, btw. xD

:)!

First, It's nice to have a rational talk with a TSC fan without feeling that they want to gut me alive for a personal thought that wasn't even the least bit wanky, so thanks for putting some faith back into the TRC fandom. :)

I do appreciate your views and can see your point, but as you can probably tell, I feel differently. Also because I tend to have problems with cross overs in general. It gives me the impression the creators are either 1) milking it for all its worth 2) ran out of ideas. This in turn makes it much harder for me to get into this series, Not that I haven't actually tried.

By the way, I don't follow the manga because I gave the anime a chance. It turned out draggy and boring for me after 10 episodes, unfortunately. I just couldn't connect with the series. I've read somewhat into the manga, but am not up to date.

It's just sweeter having Sakura and Syaoran on a more equal standing, imo, than having a (somewhat) comatose Sakura. Personally if CSS did continue in its present time, I do actually agree CCS!Syaoran will not steer too far in personality as TRC!Syaoran (they are both the brainchild of Clamp and not a product of some other author, so you know some of the old Syaoran would have rubbed off on the AU character.) , but the anime just wasn't well excecuted enough for me there.

my 002.

OP for 9, by the way. haha... (See we do have some things in common!)

You're welcome. :]

Ah, I see, I see. So, with the manga, did you ever get as far as volume 15/16, or did you give up sometime before that? As a fellow CCS!Syaoran fan, I have to agree with you that the Syaoran from all the first volumes of TRC I didn't particularly like, either. Well, erm, I liked him, but I always wondered what the heck CLAMP had done with the adorable Syaoran I loved so much from CCS. However, there's a massive revelation about him in volume 16 that makes his not acting all that Syaoran-like make sense. When I read it, I was like, "ooh, so that's why he was like that!" xDD And then R!Syaoran appears (and if you haven't read that far you probably won't understand who I'm talking about but.. it's okay.. xD) and I ended up fangirling him loads because -HE- really is very similar to CCS!Syaoran.

Oh, no, I completely agree, the anime was draggy and boring. The manga is a lot better, I promise you. I know you said that you'd read a bit already, but once you get to those aforementioned volumes, it's great. (Unless you actually have read that far but still don't like it.) But, for me, it only went uphill from there, partly because R!Syaoran appeared and partly because it started to have an actual plot at that point, rather than being a simple feature-capturing adventure where the reader sees how many crossover characters they can spot. Lol.

It's funny because I have heard alot of "arguments" against the Anime, and I personally enjoyed it. That may have been because I am in a foreign country and was/am desperate for english--even english subs. Be that as it may, i thought the OVAs especially are doing a good job. I read the first 6(?) volumes of TRC and felt that the manga and anime stayed pretty well connected. but beyond that, i have no clue, other than the OVA's (yes, I skipped a bit ahead and spoiled myself, go me!). What do you think, really, is the problem with the animes?

**I know im a latecomer but i do so enjoy civilised talk!**

Also because I tend to have problems with cross overs in general. It gives me the impression the creators are either 1) milking it for all its worth 2) ran out of ideas. This in turn makes it much harder for me to get into this series, Not that I haven't actually tried.

But even before TRC, CLAMP has been big on crossovers.

You have Seishirou and Subaru appearing in X, you have the CCD appearing in both X and Duklyon (in particular Nokoru who is an important character in Duklyon), Legal Drug and Suki crossover, there's AL and Chobits of course, AL and MKR, and there's still the possibility of a Wish/Legal Drug crossover (since CLAMP always changes the subject when they're asked about it and characters from neither series have appeared yet in TRC).

I'm just not sure how someone can be a fan of CLAMP and hate crossovers. When it comes to their series without any crossovers I can only think of their really early stuff.
