I'll be honest, I often feel so sorry for Biden.

Sometimes I can't help but think of him as a "sad clown."

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
He's had a pretty sad life, tbh

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Those headlines make me laugh. I can see why that would be fun to imagine. As long as you're not treating it as if it's real IRL, then it's not hurting anyone.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoops, sorry. I replied to the wrong comment here. My bad XP

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
When he was interviewed by Stephen Colbert last month...such an emotional interview. My heart went out to the poor man.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
He's had a lot of sad things happen to him, but he's not a "sad" person by any stretch. He's had a long, distinguished career, he has a family that adores him, and he's well liked by many of his fellow politicians. Certain segments of the media like to paint him as a ridiculous "gaffe" machine, but nothing he's done has managed to diminish his accomplishments (and most of the time, criticism lobbed at him is done to deflect from the really shitty things his opposition are doing and saying).

TBH though I've seen some things that do concern me, like his slight creeptasticness around younger women. In fact in a couple of pictures the women in question do seem visibly uncomfortable around him.

Lol same.

Although he does seem to have a good sense of humor about it irl, a big reason why I like him.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL.

He's not quite that out there in real life.

No, but I can see where OP is coming from... after reading these headlines I kind of wish he was too.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
As Vice-Presidents go he's a million times less creeptastic than Cheney. And more personable than Al Gore. :P

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Cheney was pretty damn evil. He was the whole mastermind behind the war in Iraq. Bush was just his confused stooge.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that is simultaneously unfair and overly generous to Bush. But certainly Cheney was consistently one of the hawks in the Bush administration and wielded a huge amount of influence on security policy and energy policy.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I'll certainly second this. I shudder to think of what one would have to do to be worse than Cheney, really.

The state of the union speech shoud have a fog machine. And lazer light show.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-05 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
+1

This sounds amazing.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be okay with this.

He is pretty much the most entertaining politician we've had in a while whose entertainment value didn't involve cringe-factor

I won't lie, one of my favorite Biden jokes is the one where he said the government email he wanted was already taken by Bill Clinton -- "bootyluvr69@whitehouse.gov"

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not 100% sure what "headcanon" means in this context.

Biden's great though. Just generally affable, which is what you want in a VP.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
hahahahaha fuck I love The Onion's version of Joe Biden. most excellent choice, OP.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I could have made this secret. Good job.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-06 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I adore actual Joe Biden a great deal (I'm almost at Leslie Knope levels of crush, here), but Diamond Joe Biden is still the best version of him.

Shirtless Biden Washes Trans Am In White House Driveway is my favorite ever. Biden actually loved the article but said he would has a Corvette instead and that's he's washed it in his bathing suit before. I love him.
