The movie is worse as an adaptation, but it's better as a movie than the miniseries is as a TV series.

I disagree. The miniseries isn't a tv series? I thought it was a really good miniseries. It was enjoyable and explained enough that people could understand and enjoy it even if they haven't read the book.

The movie, IMHO, is horrible no matter what method of evaluation you are using. It is a bad adaption and also a bad movie.
