Can you contact your bank at get statements or anything? It's still a huge inconvenience, but at least then the evidence is on your side.

The doctor thing is just stupid. They should have let you know.

I can show how much I paid, but not the specifics because I paid for multiple things. What I think is happening is that they are crediting that second half to a filling I should not be paying for because it was a redo after the one the dentist did fell out. But when I suggested that was what happened the billing person insisted no.
