Looking back on it as a former cheerleader, I think it's such a very odd social construct, the girls on the sidelines in cute costumes cheering for the boys. On the other hand, I had a great time and it appealed to my love for performing in front of a crowd. Overall, it was fun. But I think I'd be kind of cringing inside if a daughter of mine wanted to be a cheerleader. I wouldn't discourage her or anything, but it does seem like a strange thing to do in hindsight.
