From what I hear, Marvel was kind of a jerk to him about pay and they were giving him less than they should have because they wanted to pay Downey more. So it wasn't all his fault he lost out.

It wasn't just that, it was that he was "difficult" on set. Particularly where women were concerned, which is not a huge surprise given his track record of domestic violence. On top of that, he sounds like he's having a genuine mental health issue and needs help, but he doesn't realize it.

And then Ike Perlmutter said nobody would notice if they replaced him with Don Cheadle because "black people all look the same".

Let's not pretend like either side came out of that looking like the good guy.

Other way around - he was actually paid the most of all the cast for the first Iron Man (yes, seriously) and when everyone wanted more for the next movie, he wanted as big an increase as everyone else was getting. Marvel offered a smaller increase which would have brought him in line with the other actors. He refused, Ike Perlmutter is a racist, and that was the end of that.

what are you talking about? if you're talking about hollywood letting him get by, they do anyone that makes them money. i can't think of any entertainer or athlete whose career was ruined because they're woman beaters. terrence howard's career was probably more adversely affected by rumors he's difficult to work with than because he's been charged with hitting women.

if you're talking about online, plenty of people remember he's not shit. i recall gawker publishing something about howard's history about a year ago.

I love Empire and thought he made a good Rhodey but know nothing about his personal life. I wasn't heartbroken when he was replaced in the MCU and though he's a decent actor, his character on Empire is such a massive asshole that I've come to dislike his face.
