Oh, good lord, seriously? Yeah, that's definitely not going to fly.

Some of those people also like to get into big old speeches explaining why they don't have ID on them, or are like, "But we share the same last name! That's my husband/brother/mom/whatever." I think some of those customers are telling the truth, mind, but our higher-ups aren't going to know that, and bottom line remains, it's our policy and we have to abide by it, so...*Shrugs*.

It is a bit weird though. I have never had to offer proof for my credit cards! I guess people where I am don't care.

Yeah, honestly, I personally wouldn't care one way or another-they want to risk identity theft, that's their issue. I'd love to spare myself the headache altogether, really.

But I have to ask if the card isn't signed or there isn't a photo on it. Mainly for identity theft reasons, of course, but also because we sell adult magazines at our store and if someone who doesn't look like they're 18 is buying them, well...

Course, I've yet to actually have to ask for ID for the adult magazines-everyone who's brought them thus far have been very noticeably middle-aged people.
