Harry Potter

The new illustrated edition for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone came out yesterday and my copy arrived today. It's breathtaking. This book is absolutely gorgeous and anyone with an interest in Harry Potter should get a look at one. The book is quite large but there are illustrations EVERYWHERE.

I can't wait to sit down and read through the entire book now.

I forgot to look for it when I went to the bookstore (they didn't really advertise it....there were just big displays for Magnus Chase and Twilight 2)

If you get another chance, do it. Seriously, this book is so gorgeous. I was not expecting all of the little details scattered throughout the book.

Not as far as I know. I just preordered mine on Amazon two weeks ago.

The plan is to release an illustrated edition for every one of the books, one a year.

I'm surprised it took them this long to release something like this. I wish I had read this edition first because it's really so magical.

I don't know how long the art took to produce or when they started, but that might be why.

I was going to be good and just ask for money if anyone wanted to get me christmas gifts, but I don't know if I have the willpower for that now. Even if they gave me money I would probably just buy this with it. :(

It is magical. I think I might have money squirrelled away in the christmas jar to buy it for my cousin who hasn't read the books yet. It's the gift I would have wanted at that age, and he loves books.

This book really would make a great gift. It's a high quality book too, I'm just so impressed with and am surprised there's not more hype now that it's actually out. When they first announced it, it was all over buzzfeed and amazon.

I have several editions of Harry Potter and this is by the nicest of all of them.

It got a lot of fanfare when it was announced forever ago, but no one seems to be talking about it now. Buzzfeed posted a lot about it any time they showed a new picture and now that the whole book is out, nothing?

But yes, do take a look for it. It's SIGNIFICANTLY larger than your standard hardcover book.
