I wouldn't assume you're jealous at all, because i can certainly get why someone would like the idea of a fanthing being made into an original thing.

But I would say that sometimes people don't always want to make a big original thing of something. Sometimes they're just having fun with it as a fan thing, or maybe would have different ideas for an original work/property.

Sort of like the drawerfic mentioned above, it doesn't always make sense to everyone why, but it's just fun for a person.

I agree. Sometimes people just want to have fun without pressure, and calling it fanart can help with that.
