(Anonymous) 2015-10-09 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)I know there are people that are virgins that are older. There always are.
Re: What's your biggest secret?
(Anonymous) 2015-10-10 01:57 am (UTC)(link)But I still understand the awkwardness all the same, and all the insecurities that do come with it (especially once you hit my age and older). Society does have a way of making this seem like something that everyone has to do at some point in order to be "normal", and it's very easy to feel the "odd one out" after a while.
That said, though, if anyone does try and make you feel like shit for being a virgin, they're idiots, and they're not worth listening to or worth your time. That's especially true for if and when you do find yourself in a relationship with someone, and the topic of intimacy does come up. You deserve to be able to do what you feel comfortable doing when you feel comfortable doing it, and with whom. To some people sex is a big thing, to others it's not, and either way is fine and normal.
If you do ever bring up the topic with those close to you, I hope they're cool about it, and hopefully the discussion here will help ease some of your insecurities, even if only a little.
Re: What's your biggest secret?
I just never had the confidence to try dating, and then as I got older I heard plenty of tales of bad relationships and came to think I'm better off avoiding the possible mess.
