To bullied children: "He probably just likes you."

I didn't think people still said this. Boy was I wrong.

Oh my God this

I got this from a high school teacher after talking about two kids who sat in front of me in computer class would pull the computer cord out of mine and effectively shut down my computer. Then laugh at me for being upset about it because it was "just a joke"

I gave her the most deadpan "are you serious?" look I could muster.

I was told this one too.

When I was a kid, a male friend of mine one time started saying some very sexual and uncomfortable things to me. I told my dad and got the response "Well, it sounds like he's very taken with you." =____=

URgh I saw this on facebook, that is a horrible saying.

Seriously, this is not Gilbert pulling Anne's pigtail and calling her "Carrots." This child was fucking bleeding and needed stitches.

Someone said this to my friend in high school. She just gave them this icy stare while I was the one saying, "Does anyone actually thinks that works? That people can be annoyed into liking them? Really, does that seem at all likely? I'd just punch him."

Luckily neither of my parents said this, though I think I remember hearing it from outsiders. Mom was all, "Tell an adult." Dad told me to, "Hit [them] back." When I was in the fourth grade a classmate came up behind me and quite literally pulled my ponytail. I spun around with the pull and backhanded him across the face. He got a black eye, teachers were never informed, and no one touched me without consent again.

Ugh I got this one and I hated hearing it because it sure as hell never felt like they liked me, quite the opposite in fact.

My mom told me this all the time. I don't talk to her any more.
