"Real women have curves." Real women come in all shapes and sizes. This saying is flat-out body shaming and reeks of insecurity.

"You don't need no man!"/"having a guy won't solve your problems!" You mean, my desire for companionship and physical and emotional intimacy is just a self-esteem problem and not a natural human urge that most people feel? Gosh, thanks! Because you see, the fact that you only ever say this to women seeking men and not lesbians or men led me to believe this was some trite platitude you think is feminist and designed to make me strong and able to stand up to a society pressuring me to be, I dunno, barefoot and pregnant or something, and not an implication that I can't be trusted to know my own mind. Also, thank you for implying that I have all kinds of problems and that I want someone to come and magically fix them for. The only problem I complained about was the lack of romantic companionship problem - which having a boyfriend would totally fix, fyi - but you knew better and knew my life was a complete mess and I want Prince Charming to swoop in and rescue me from all of these unspecified problems!

tl;dr thus is why I never let on that I'm looking for a boyfriend. :P

God, I hate those sayings too. People who say stuff like that think they are being feminist, but those sayings are actually hurtful to women.

and a related one. "if you think of yourself as being beautiful, you will be." Bullshit.
