So the Doctor was in the coffin all along, and the whole thing was a huge timey wimey ball. Who called it, apart from everyone? A villain so thinly sketched that even the Classic Series would have felt ashamed of it even in Hartnell's day. A three minute direct to audience, fourth wall lecture to start it. Clever set dressing to make the pre-lake bed village seem interesting which is never followed through on, the Doctor doesn't care about saving people until it is a regular, two guys who cannot confess their love to a woman, and that is only half of it. Jesus, what a pile of shit. Even the big SFX piece of the damn dam bursting is basically glossed over.

You missed the blatant hint dropping about the big secret that Missy is back at the end of the season and will be called War Minister. So painfully obvious.

He could at least have fixed deaf girl's hearing so she could have a normal relationship with someone other than her translator.

I'm astonished someone takes DW seriously. I watch it as mindless quirky entertainment that also happens to give me some of that platonic sappiness I always crave.

You do know that Doctor Who has literally always been intended for a younger audience, right? Which is why it really isn't that complex? I can't believe how seriously some grown-ass people take this show.

Not looking at ayrt spoilers yet, but pedantically, it's aimed at *both* adults and children, and has to speak to both of them on different levels. It's a difficult juggling act, but it does absolutely have some complex adult themes going on.

However, some adult fans forget that it's supposed to appeal to younger fans too, when they're speculating or analysing, and there's just some places the show ain't gonna go.

The use of the title "Fisher King" for the painfully generic bad guy was such a dropped bollock. The Fisher King is a title rich in mythological and cultural significance, ripping it off for a monster which would change so little of the plot if it was non-sapient was a massive mistake.

I could tell right from the start with that "Who wrote Beethoven's 5th?" bit that the whole point of the episode was going to be a timey-wimey ball.
